Farm Bureau Scholarship Application Requirements
Farm Bureau is sponsoring four scholarships for the 2011-2012 SDJPS year. Breakdown will be one $1,000, one $750, one $500, one $250 scholarship will be offered. Scholarships will be awarded annually but if won in previous year/years by exhibitor they can only be awarded a scholarship of greater value. South Dakota Jr. Point Show exhibitors who are high school seniors or currently in college are eligible to apply. Scholarships will be awarded for the second semester or third quarter of the school year. Scholarship winners are required to go to a South Dakota college or vocational school.
Farm Bureau Scholarship winners for 2011 were: $1000 Taylor Geppert; $750 Daniel Weidenbach; $500 Katie Johnson. Congrats to all the exhibitors and winners I look forward to the coming year!

Scholarship Eligibility
- Must be a South Dakota resident
- Applicants must have been exhibitors of the South Dakota Jr. Point Show for the current year.
- Applicants must attend or be attending a South Dakota college or vocational school
- Applicants must be high school seniors or older
- Points and participation will also be reviewed
Application
Applications must include the following:
- Name, Address, Phone number of applicant
- Current/Future education plans
- Leadership Accomplishments
- Past accomplishments with cattle
- Extra-curricular activities
- 500 word essay on “I feel an important issue facing the livestock industry is ? “
Applications will be judged on content, use of language, neatness, spelling, and punctuation.
All applications will be judged by a committee including a representative from Farm Bureau.
